It is September, which means it is time for VGPers to plan for the Fall AGU meeting in December in San Francisco. It promises to be another great meeting.  VGP received just under 900 abstracts for the Fall meeting; they report results on the “cutting edge” of research in our science.   The VGP sessions represent a range of topics, including early Earth, new developments in isotope analysis, mantle geochemistry, volcanic gases and fluids, and extinction-level events.  There also will be special lectures by the 2015 Bowen and Daly Medal winners, plus a VGP reception where you can talk to other VGPers and meet the executive members of your section.   If you are going to Fall AGU the time to register and make housing reservations is now.  And if you cannot make the meeting, AGU will be webcasting some of the VGP sessions so that you can watch them from your home or work.

We hope to see you there, and if you see any one of us please don’t hesitate to come up and say “hello”!

Amanda Clarke and Cin-Ty Lee, AGU VGP Secretaries
