    Here are a few pictures taken during the VGP reception at the Fall AGU Meeting in San Francisco. The Bowen Award was presented to the two 2016 Awardees, Tim Elliott and Dante Canil; the Kuno Award was given to Esteban Gazel; and the MSA Dana Medal was given to Sumit Chakraborty.

  • Norman L. Bowen Award

    This year two Bowen awards have been given, to Dante Canil from the University of Victoria, and Tim Elliott from the University of Bristol. The Bowen award is given annually by the VGP section for outstanding contributions to volcanology, geochemistry, or petrology. Congratulations! A list of past recipients can be found here.
