The National Academy of Sciences has announced the election of 84 new members and 21 foreign associates in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. This includes our AGU-VGP President-Elect & Meetings Chair, Michael Manga. Michael is a Professor of Earth and planetary sciences in the department of earth and planetary science, University of California, Berkeley
Those elected today bring the total number of active members to 2,382 and the total number of foreign associates to 484.
